Since tokyo kimono started, I have been asking abt their shoes.
Even after multiple time visits to japan over the years and I still forgot to come over.
Finally today, I made it to asakusa, and bought 2 pairs of these beautiful and one of its kind shoes!! So happy about it !!
Ryo-san was very accommodating and friendly and speaks great English!!

My partner and I went to Tokyo Kimono Shoes today and had a wonderful experience! We had discovered Tokyo Kimono Shoes on social media a few months ago and had been looking forward to visiting the store itself during our current trip to Japan.
When we arrived we were greeted warmly by the amazing people who work there and Shintaro (thank you for the restaurant recommendations!) graciously helped us try on many different styles of shoes (while we had an enjoyable conversation about "Final Fantasy" games!) The experience was truly wonderful and I absolutely love the shoes I bought.
If you're in Tokyo please do yourself a favour and visit this store. The quality and artistry of their products is truly amazing and you will feel like you've purchased something that's one of a kind. We plan to return again for our next trip

Last year I saw their beautiful shoes online and ordered a pair, shipped to my home in the US. When they arrived they more than lived up to the hype, I was so pleased and amazed at the quality and attention to detail.
I was able to visit their store in Tokyo recently, where we were greeted warmly. The store had a wonderful collection with all sorts of unique temptations. I bought a lovely card case for the Mrs., and they gifted us a couple of cool key chains.
I would highly recommend a visit in person, or at least their online shop. You will not be disappointed.

We were very happy with our experience! The cost of the shoe is minimum ¥44,000 which was a shock to us. But after the care that the staff took and the understanding of the craftsmanship that goes into the shoes, the cost made sense. We got the Orchid and Lily shoe. They have a size chart for varying countries so the conversion was easy. They also have kimono shaped keychains, kimono print strap keychains, kimono print card cases, and kimono print passport holders

Their shoes and sneakers are all made by hand, and they repurpose beautiful kimono fabric and incorporate them into their sneakers and shoes, giving you a one of a kind product! I couldn't help myself and I bought 2!!! I absolutely love my new sneakers and wear them all the time! Everyone tells me how much they like them and ask where I got them! Stopped by on a whim while looking around Google Maps. So glad I did - its a one-of-a-kind store run by friendly staff that also speak great English. They were very patient with me and brought out several different pairs when I told them what colors & patterns I liked for me to try. Shoes are handmade from leather and the side fabric from real kimonos & obis.
I ended up purchasing a pair from the store, then ordering a custom one from materials & colors I chose myself to be shipped back to the US (will take approximately 2 months for the shoes to be made and shipped). I will be telling my friends about this store for their future trip to Japan. Highly recommend checking this shop out if you are ever in Asakusa - you may wind up with a new pair of shoes like I did

Myself and my friend came here simply to check out something we'd seen on Instagram. We both left with a pair! The staff were incredibly friendly and interested in us as people and helped us pick a pair each cut from the same Kimono which was a great touch.
The materials are brilliant and the style is so cool! They also have a shop not too far away with Tshirts, hats and accessories. I'd DEFINITELY go get another pair in the future. Easiest 5 star I will ever giv

I was wondering why some reviews are buying 4 pairs of shoes before I went to see this unique shop.
True enough and indeed I love their shoes so much.
And I will comment excellent and friendly service from Tokyo kimono shoes.
Firstly we will need to just try the right size despite of the design. (Do not panic hahaa)
After u got your size, they will intro u with what is the available designs they had. Pulling out a trolley with all the nice kimonos shoes.
I didn’t get the young chap who serve me but thank you so much. U totally see into my dressing and recommend me the right shoes!
Will add in the 2 shoes photos that I bought! Love it and thank u so much for the great shopping experience in Tokyo.

If you are looking for a uniquely yours souvenir from your Japan trip, look no further! I saw their shoes on Facebook and decided I need to get a pair from my trip to Tokyo.
These shoes are exquisitely hand made in Asakusa! Made of leather and recycled kimonos. The shop is located in a nondescript alley way in Asakusa - so you really need to navigate specifically to the little shop.
They are 2 years old the day I visited on 26 January 2025. So it feels special for me also. I ended up buying 2 pairs - 1 shoes and 1 ankle boots.
Both are very comfortable to walk in, I love them for the fabric and the fact that each design is unique. If you have the patience to wait for a 3 weeks delivery time frame, you can choose the leather color and kimono fabric to design a style that you want. They will ship it to your home country.
Be prepared to shell out a decent amount for the shoes though. My shoes cost ¥44,000 (cheaper if you choose a kimono fabric, mine is the obi belt fabric which tender to have more shimmery thread embroidery and the fabric of the belt is lesser than an actual kimono, hence more expensive) while my boots cost ¥35,000
All in all - it’s a special souvenir for Japan trip that you won’t see it anywhere else. So to me, that is worth it.
They have a shop a short walk away with more wearable fashion items like Tshirt with kimono fabric pocket/ cap / bag selection etc. I bought a number of these back home as gifts for my friends

I remember seeing this store in a news report long ago. In my recent trip to Japan, i found it again by accident just looking other type of clothing in google maps search 😅🤣. I made up my mind inmediatly to go before leaving, as i thought it could be a beautifull and unique buy from Japan. The day i went to the store the staff was friendly and nice (they speak english). They brought me the options they had on my side (8.5 US/ 40 Eu). And fourtunatly i bought a design that i really like it and i am very looking forward to wear it :). I also believe the prices are worth it as its very unique hand made work. Maybe the design we all take is quite unique as i guess 1 recycled kimono has a very limited number of shoes you can make out of it!!

Pretty awesome store with unique one of a kind shoes. Since its design with old recycled kimonos the patter placed is different every time. Everything is handmade in Asakusa. The staff is wonderful, very nice and helpful. If you want to walk out with a pair right then and there, you tell them your size and what colors you like. They will bring out a wonderful selection of one of a kind shoes! I highly recommend this spot that’s a little off the beaten path for a one of a kind souvenir from Tokyo

Io e mio marito ci siamo recati in questo negozio conosciuto sui social. Il negozio non è nella zona affollata di Asakusa, ma si trova facilmente. Locale pulito con esposti diversi modelli.
Il personale (si sono alternate due commesse ed è arrivata anche un'altra persona) parla perfettamente inglese.
Per prima cosa abbiamo provato il loro modello per stabilire il numero. Le loro scarpe risultavano più strette di quelle occidentali e abbiamo acquistato mezzo/un numero in più.
Successivamente ci hanno mostrato i modelli disponibili in negozio. Qualora non ci fosse piaciuto nulla, avremmo potuto far realizzare delle scarpe con le stoffe che avevano. C'erano molti tessuti, alcuni erano pezzi di kimono in cotone, altri erano le cinture Obi con colori più lucidi.
Anche il colore di base delle scarpe era personalizzabile: c'era il bianco, ma anche rosse, blu, marroni e altri colori.
Mio marito ha acquistato subito un paio. Io me le sono fatte confezionare e in un paio di mesi dovrebbero arrivare.
Costo ovviamente più alto di un paio di scarpe si sneakers in negozio, ma parliamo di un prodotto artigianale.
I costi per la spedizione sono contenuti, così come la personalizzazione.
Assolutamente consigliato anche per la possibilità di avere un prodotto unico.

I had the pleasure of working with Sho-san to order a pair of Tokyo Kimono Shoes as my wedding shoes. From initial contact to confirming the right size to choosing the fabric and matching leather, it was a smooth process and positive experience. Sho-san gave so much attention to the details of the construction of the shoes. As they are handmade, there is a bit of a wait between your order and the arrival of the shoes, but I didn’t mind. When the sneakers arrived, they were absolutely beautiful. I got so many compliments on them at our wedding, and some of our guests came up to me to ask if they could look more closely at them. I made sure to break them in a little bit before the wedding and they were comfortable for the entire day. I would highly recommend Tokyo Kimono Shoes for either your special event or for a nice accent shoe! The wait is worth it, just make sure to check their website for the production timeline and order with appropriate lead time. I saw their new design that will be released in September, and I will be looking forward to it. I will definitely order additional shoes from them in the future. The hospitality that given to my wife and I
was extraordinary. The attention to detail of their products is outstanding. Will will buy a pair of Kimono shoe that are singular, no two pairs are identical to each other. If you would rather like to choose the type, color and pattern of the available Kimonos on display including the various amount of trims that also can be selected to your liking.

I remember seeing this store in a news report long ago. In my recent trip to Japan, i found it again by accident just looking other type of clothing in google maps search 😅🤣. I made up my mind inmediatly to go before leaving, as i thought it could be a beautifull and unique buy from Japan. The day i went to the store the staff was friendly and nice (they speak english). They brought me the options they had on my side (8.5 US/ 40 Eu). And fourtunatly i bought a design that i really like it and i am very looking forward to wear it :). I also believe the prices are worth it as its very unique hand made work. Maybe the design we all take is quite unique as i guess 1 recycled kimono has a very limited number of shoes you can make out of it!!

Pretty awesome store with unique one of a kind shoes. Since its design with old recycled kimonos the patter placed is different every time. Everything is handmade in Asakusa. The staff is wonderful, very nice and helpful. If you want to walk out with a pair right then and there, you tell them your size and what colors you like. They will bring out a wonderful selection of one of a kind shoes! I highly recommend this spot that’s a little off the beaten path for a one of a kind souvenir from Tokyo

Io e mio marito ci siamo recati in questo negozio conosciuto sui social. Il negozio non è nella zona affollata di Asakusa, ma si trova facilmente. Locale pulito con esposti diversi modelli.
Il personale (si sono alternate due commesse ed è arrivata anche un'altra persona) parla perfettamente inglese.
Per prima cosa abbiamo provato il loro modello per stabilire il numero. Le loro scarpe risultavano più strette di quelle occidentali e abbiamo acquistato mezzo/un numero in più.
Successivamente ci hanno mostrato i modelli disponibili in negozio. Qualora non ci fosse piaciuto nulla, avremmo potuto far realizzare delle scarpe con le stoffe che avevano. C'erano molti tessuti, alcuni erano pezzi di kimono in cotone, altri erano le cinture Obi con colori più lucidi.
Anche il colore di base delle scarpe era personalizzabile: c'era il bianco, ma anche rosse, blu, marroni e altri colori.
Mio marito ha acquistato subito un paio. Io me le sono fatte confezionare e in un paio di mesi dovrebbero arrivare.
Costo ovviamente più alto di un paio di scarpe si sneakers in negozio, ma parliamo di un prodotto artigianale.
I costi per la spedizione sono contenuti, così come la personalizzazione.
Assolutamente consigliato anche per la possibilità di avere un prodotto unico.

I had the pleasure of working with Sho-san to order a pair of Tokyo Kimono Shoes as my wedding shoes. From initial contact to confirming the right size to choosing the fabric and matching leather, it was a smooth process and positive experience. Sho-san gave so much attention to the details of the construction of the shoes. As they are handmade, there is a bit of a wait between your order and the arrival of the shoes, but I didn’t mind. When the sneakers arrived, they were absolutely beautiful. I got so many compliments on them at our wedding, and some of our guests came up to me to ask if they could look more closely at them. I made sure to break them in a little bit before the wedding and they were comfortable for the entire day. I would highly recommend Tokyo Kimono Shoes for either your special event or for a nice accent shoe! The wait is worth it, just make sure to check their website for the production timeline and order with appropriate lead time. I saw their new design that will be released in September, and I will be looking forward to it. I will definitely order additional shoes from them in the future. The hospitality that given to my wife and I
was extraordinary. The attention to detail of their products is outstanding. Will will buy a pair of Kimono shoe that are singular, no two pairs are identical to each other. Since tokyo kimono started, I have been asking abt their shoes.
Even after multiple time visits to japan over the years and I still forgot to come over.

My partner and I went to Tokyo Kimono Shoes today and had a wonderful experience! We had discovered Tokyo Kimono Shoes on social media a few months ago and had been looking forward to visiting the store itself during our current trip to Japan.
When we arrived we were greeted warmly by the amazing people who work there and Shintaro (thank you for the restaurant recommendations!) graciously helped us try on many different styles of shoes (while we had an enjoyable conversation about "Final Fantasy" games!) The experience was truly wonderful and I absolutely love the shoes I bought.

Last year I saw their beautiful shoes online and ordered a pair, shipped to my home in the US. When they arrived they more than lived up to the hype, I was so pleased and amazed at the quality and attention to detail.
I was able to visit their store in Tokyo recently, where we were greeted warmly. The store had a wonderful collection with all sorts of unique temptations. I bought a lovely card case for the Mrs., and they gifted us a couple of cool key chains.
I would highly recommend a visit in person, or at least their online shop. You will not be disappointed.

We were very happy with our experience! The cost of the shoe is minimum ¥44,000 which was a shock to us. But after the care that the staff took and the understanding of the craftsmanship that goes into the shoes, the cost made sense. We got the Orchid and Lily shoe. They have a size chart for varying countries so the conversion was easy. They also have kimono shaped keychains, kimono print strap keychains, kimono print card cases, and kimono print passport holders

Stopped by on a whim while looking around Google Maps. So glad I did - its a one-of-a-kind store run by friendly staff that also speak great English. They were very patient with me and brought out several different pairs when I told them what colors & patterns I liked for me to try. Shoes are handmade from leather and the side fabric from real kimonos & obis.
I ended up purchasing a pair from the store, then ordering a custom one from materials & colors I chose myself to be shipped back to the US (will take approximately 2 months for the shoes to be made and shipped). I will be telling my friends about this store for their future trip to Japan. Highly recommend checking this shop out if you are ever in Asakusa - you may wind up with a new pair of shoes like I did

Myself and my friend came here simply to check out something we'd seen on Instagram. We both left with a pair! The staff were incredibly friendly and interested in us as people and helped us pick a pair each cut from the same Kimono which was a great touch.

True enough and indeed I love their shoes so much.
And I will comment excellent and friendly service from Tokyo kimono shoes.
Firstly we will need to just try the right size despite of the design. (Do not panic hahaa)
After u got your size, they will intro u with what is the available designs they had. Pulling out a trolley with all the nice kimonos shoes.
I didn’t get the young chap who serve me but thank you so much. U totally see into my dressing and recommend me the right shoes!

If you are looking for a uniquely yours souvenir from your Japan trip, look no further! I saw their shoes on Facebook and decided I need to get a pair from my trip to Tokyo.
These shoes are exquisitely hand made in Asakusa! Made of leather and recycled kimonos. The shop is located in a nondescript alley way in Asakusa - so you really need to navigate specifically to the little shop.
They are 2 years old the day I visited on 26 January 2025. So it feels special for me also. I ended up buying 2 pairs - 1 shoes and 1 ankle boots.
Both are very comfortable to walk in, I love them for the fabric and the fact that each design is unique. If you have the patience to wait for a 3 weeks delivery time frame, you can choose the leather color and kimono fabric to design a style that you want. They will ship it to your home country.
Be prepared to shell out a decent amount for the shoes though. My shoes cost ¥44,000 (cheaper if you choose a kimono fabric, mine is the obi belt fabric which tender to have more shimmery thread embroidery and the fabric of the belt is lesser than an actual kimono, hence more expensive) while my boots cost ¥35,000
All in all - it’s a special souvenir for Japan trip that you won’t see it anywhere else. So to me, that is worth it.
They have a shop a short walk away with more wearable fashion items like Tshirt with kimono fabric pocket/ cap / bag selection etc. I bought a number of these back home as gifts for my friends

Stopped by on a whim while looking around Google Maps. So glad I did - its a one-of-a-kind store run by friendly staff that also speak great English. They were very patient with me and brought out several different pairs when I told them what colors & patterns I liked for me to try. Shoes are handmade from leather and the side fabric from real kimonos & obis.
I ended up purchasing a pair from the store, then ordering a custom one from materials & colors I chose myself to be shipped back to the US (will take approximately 2 months for the shoes to be made and shipped). I will be telling my friends about this store for their future trip to Japan. Highly recommend checking this shop out if you are ever in Asakusa - you may wind up with a new pair of shoes like I did

Myself and my friend came here simply to check out something we'd seen on Instagram. We both left with a pair! The staff were incredibly friendly and interested in us as people and helped us pick a pair each cut from the same Kimono which was a great touch.
The materials are brilliant and the style is so cool! They also have a shop not too far away with Tshirts, hats and accessories. I'd DEFINITELY go get another pair in the future. Easiest 5 star I will ever giv

I was wondering why some reviews are buying 4 pairs of shoes before I went to see this unique shop.
True enough and indeed I love their shoes so much.
And I will comment excellent and friendly service from Tokyo kimono shoes.
Firstly we will need to just try the right size despite of the design. (Do not panic hahaa)
After u got your size, they will intro u with what is the available designs they had. Pulling out a trolley with all the nice kimonos shoes.
I didn’t get the young chap who serve me but thank you so much. U totally see into my dressing and recommend me the right shoes!
Will add in the 2 shoes photos that I bought! Love it and thank u so much for the great shopping experience in Tokyo.

If you are looking for a uniquely yours souvenir from your Japan trip, look no further! I saw their shoes on Facebook and decided I need to get a pair from my trip to Tokyo.
These shoes are exquisitely hand made in Asakusa! Made of leather and recycled kimonos. The shop is located in a nondescript alley way in Asakusa - so you really need to navigate specifically to the little shop.
They are 2 years old the day I visited on 26 January 2025. So it feels special for me also. I ended up buying 2 pairs - 1 shoes and 1 ankle boots.
Both are very comfortable to walk in, I love them for the fabric and the fact that each design is unique. If you have the patience to wait for a 3 weeks delivery time frame, you can choose the leather color and kimono fabric to design a style that you want. They will ship it to your home country.
Be prepared to shell out a decent amount for the shoes though. My shoes cost ¥44,000 (cheaper if you choose a kimono fabric, mine is the obi belt fabric which tender to have more shimmery thread embroidery and the fabric of the belt is lesser than an actual kimono, hence more expensive) while my boots cost ¥35,000
All in all - it’s a special souvenir for Japan trip that you won’t see it anywhere else. So to me, that is worth it.
They have a shop a short walk away with more wearable fashion items like Tshirt with kimono fabric pocket/ cap / bag selection etc. I bought a number of these back home as gifts for my friends

Amazing shop. I bought two pairs of shoes and it was so difficult to choose, all shoes are amazing and unique. The people at the store were also very friendly and helpful, their English is also very good, just in case your Japanese is a bit lacking 😉. I remember seeing this store in a news report long ago. In my recent trip to Japan, i found it again by accident just looking other type of clothing in google maps search 😅🤣. I made up my mind inmediatly to go before leaving, as i thought it could be a beautifull and unique buy from Japan. The day i went to the store the staff was friendly and nice (they speak english). They brought me the options they had on my side (8.5 US/ 40 Eu). And fourtunatly i bought a design that i really like it and i am very looking forward to wear it :). I also believe the prices are worth it as its very unique hand made work. Maybe the design we all take is quite unique as i guess 1 recycled kimono has a very limited number of shoes you can make out of it!!

Pretty awesome store with unique one of a kind shoes. Since its design with old recycled kimonos the patter placed is different every time. Everything is handmade in Asakusa. The staff is wonderful, very nice and helpful. If you want to walk out with a pair right then and there, you tell them your size and what colors you like. They will bring out a wonderful selection of one of a kind shoes! I highly recommend this spot that’s a little off the beaten path for a one of a kind souvenir from Tokyo

Io e mio marito ci siamo recati in questo negozio conosciuto sui social. Il negozio non è nella zona affollata di Asakusa, ma si trova facilmente. Locale pulito con esposti diversi modelli.
Il personale (si sono alternate due commesse ed è arrivata anche un'altra persona) parla perfettamente inglese.
Per prima cosa abbiamo provato il loro modello per stabilire il numero. Le loro scarpe risultavano più strette di quelle occidentali e abbiamo acquistato mezzo/un numero in più.
Successivamente ci hanno mostrato i modelli disponibili in negozio. Qualora non ci fosse piaciuto nulla, avremmo potuto far realizzare delle scarpe con le stoffe che avevano. C'erano molti tessuti, alcuni erano pezzi di kimono in cotone, altri erano le cinture Obi con colori più lucidi.
Anche il colore di base delle scarpe era personalizzabile: c'era il bianco, ma anche rosse, blu, marroni e altri colori.
Mio marito ha acquistato subito un paio. Io me le sono fatte confezionare e in un paio di mesi dovrebbero arrivare.
Costo ovviamente più alto di un paio di scarpe si sneakers in negozio, ma parliamo di un prodotto artigianale.
I costi per la spedizione sono contenuti, così come la personalizzazione.
Assolutamente consigliato anche per la possibilità di avere un prodotto unico.

I had the pleasure of working with Sho-san to order a pair of Tokyo Kimono Shoes as my wedding shoes. From initial contact to confirming the right size to choosing the fabric and matching leather, it was a smooth process and positive experience. Sho-san gave so much attention to the details of the construction of the shoes. As they are handmade, there is a bit of a wait between your order and the arrival of the shoes, but I didn’t mind. When the sneakers arrived, they were absolutely beautiful. I got so many compliments on them at our wedding, and some of our guests came up to me to ask if they could look more closely at them. I made sure to break them in a little bit before the wedding and they were comfortable for the entire day. I would highly recommend Tokyo Kimono Shoes for either your special event or for a nice accent shoe! The wait is worth it, just make sure to check their website for the production timeline and order with appropriate lead time. The shoes are beautiful, and hopefully, these are made in Japan. I ended up buying 4 pairs, and we stopped at different location where they sell bags. I saw their new design that will be released in September, and I will be looking forward to it. I will definitely order additional shoes from them in the future. The hospitality that given to my wife and I
was extraordinary. The attention to detail of their products is outstanding. Will will buy a pair of Kimono shoe that are singular, no two pairs are identical to each other. If you would rather like to choose the type, color and pattern of the available Kimonos on display including the various amount of trims that also can be selected to your liking.
We bought two pairs one for my loving wife and for my beautiful sister.

Since tokyo kimono started, I have been asking abt their shoes.
Even after multiple time visits to japan over the years and I still forgot to come over.
Finally today, I made it to asakusa, and bought 2 pairs of these beautiful and one of its kind shoes!! So happy about it !!
Ryo-san was very accommodating and friendly and speaks great English!!
Highly recommended, the shoes are incredible and there is no 2nd pair in this world, hand made and made from kimono fabrics. Definitely artistically beautiful..

My partner and I went to Tokyo Kimono Shoes today and had a wonderful experience! We had discovered Tokyo Kimono Shoes on social media a few months ago and had been looking forward to visiting the store itself during our current trip to Japan.
When we arrived we were greeted warmly by the amazing people who work there and Shintaro (thank you for the restaurant recommendations!) graciously helped us try on many different styles of shoes (while we had an enjoyable conversation about "Final Fantasy" games!) The experience was truly wonderful and I absolutely love the shoes I bought.
If you're in Tokyo please do yourself a favour and visit this store. The quality and artistry of their products is truly amazing and you will feel like you've purchased something that's one of a kind. We plan to return again for our next trip

Last year I saw their beautiful shoes online and ordered a pair, shipped to my home in the US. When they arrived they more than lived up to the hype, I was so pleased and amazed at the quality and attention to detail.
I was able to visit their store in Tokyo recently, where we were greeted warmly. The store had a wonderful collection with all sorts of unique temptations. I bought a lovely card case for the Mrs., and they gifted us a couple of cool key chains.
I would highly recommend a visit in person, or at least their online shop. You will not be disappointed.

We were very happy with our experience! The cost of the shoe is minimum ¥44,000 which was a shock to us. But after the care that the staff took and the understanding of the craftsmanship that goes into the shoes, the cost made sense. We got the Orchid and Lily shoe. They have a size chart for varying countries so the conversion was easy. They also have kimono shaped keychains, kimono print strap keychains, kimono print card cases, and kimono print passport holders

Their shoes and sneakers are all made by hand, and they repurpose beautiful kimono fabric and incorporate them into their sneakers and shoes, giving you a one of a kind product! I couldn't help myself and I bought 2!!! I absolutely love my new sneakers and wear them all the time! Everyone tells me how much they like them and ask where I got them!
