I remember seeing this store in a news report long ago. In my recent trip to Japan, i found it again by accident just looking other type of clothing in google maps search 😅🤣. I made up my mind inmediatly to go before leaving, as i thought it could be a beautifull and unique buy from Japan. The day i went to the store the staff was friendly and nice (they speak english). They brought me the options they had on my side (8.5 US/ 40 Eu). And fourtunatly i bought a design that i really like it and i am very looking forward to wear it :). I also believe the prices are worth it as its very unique hand made work. Maybe the design we all take is quite unique as i guess 1 recycled kimono has a very limited number of shoes you can make out of it!!

Pretty awesome store with unique one of a kind shoes. Since its design with old recycled kimonos the patter placed is different every time. Everything is handmade in Asakusa. The staff is wonderful, very nice and helpful. If you want to walk out with a pair right then and there, you tell them your size and what colors you like. They will bring out a wonderful selection of one of a kind shoes! I highly recommend this spot that’s a little off the beaten path for a one of a kind souvenir from Tokyo

Io e mio marito ci siamo recati in questo negozio conosciuto sui social. Il negozio non è nella zona affollata di Asakusa, ma si trova facilmente. Locale pulito con esposti diversi modelli.
Il personale (si sono alternate due commesse ed è arrivata anche un'altra persona) parla perfettamente inglese.
Per prima cosa abbiamo provato il loro modello per stabilire il numero. Le loro scarpe risultavano più strette di quelle occidentali e abbiamo acquistato mezzo/un numero in più.
Successivamente ci hanno mostrato i modelli disponibili in negozio. Qualora non ci fosse piaciuto nulla, avremmo potuto far realizzare delle scarpe con le stoffe che avevano. C'erano molti tessuti, alcuni erano pezzi di kimono in cotone, altri erano le cinture Obi con colori più lucidi.
Anche il colore di base delle scarpe era personalizzabile: c'era il bianco, ma anche rosse, blu, marroni e altri colori.
Mio marito ha acquistato subito un paio. Io me le sono fatte confezionare e in un paio di mesi dovrebbero arrivare.
Costo ovviamente più alto di un paio di scarpe si sneakers in negozio, ma parliamo di un prodotto artigianale.
I costi per la spedizione sono contenuti, così come la personalizzazione.
Assolutamente consigliato anche per la possibilità di avere un prodotto unico.

I had the pleasure of working with Sho-san to order a pair of Tokyo Kimono Shoes as my wedding shoes. From initial contact to confirming the right size to choosing the fabric and matching leather, it was a smooth process and positive experience. Sho-san gave so much attention to the details of the construction of the shoes. As they are handmade, there is a bit of a wait between your order and the arrival of the shoes, but I didn’t mind. When the sneakers arrived, they were absolutely beautiful. I got so many compliments on them at our wedding, and some of our guests came up to me to ask if they could look more closely at them. I made sure to break them in a little bit before the wedding and they were comfortable for the entire day. I would highly recommend Tokyo Kimono Shoes for either your special event or for a nice accent shoe! The wait is worth it, just make sure to check their website for the production timeline and order with appropriate lead time. The shoes are beautiful, and hopefully, these are made in Japan. I ended up buying 4 pairs, and we stopped at different location where they sell bags. I saw their new design that will be released in September, and I will be looking forward to it. I will definitely order additional shoes from them in the future. The staff were nice, helpful, and extremely professional. The only downside was the lack of available colors in the sizes we were looking for

The hospitality that given to my wife and I
was extraordinary. The attention to detail of their products is outstanding. Will will buy a pair of Kimono shoe that are singular, no two pairs are identical to each other. If you would rather like to choose the type, color and pattern of the available Kimonos on display including the various amount of trims that also can be selected to your liking.
We bought two pairs one for my loving wife and for my beautiful sister.
Give the the opportunity you won't be disappointed.

I heard about this store just two weeks before my trip to Japan and I knew I had to go. My feet are pretty big at 44 EU or 27.5 JP size, and I was very lucky to find shoes my size with a design I liked, the red one in the photo. However, orders made from scratch can take a couple of months to complete because the store works with genuine artisans who take time with their craft.
The staff was very helpful and friendly and helped me with everything I needed, and the shoes look and feel high quality. Their sister store, Kimono Reborn, is very close by and definitely worth a visit as well

Choose your shoes on site and pay for the shipping to your home or country. It takes a few weeks to make the shoes and another few weeks for delivery. There are many shoes on display but you can also talk to the store owner and they will bring the fabric out for you to choose from. They are very friendly.

一目惚れして以前購入した着物シューズ。浅草の革靴職人の技術と廃棄処分されそうになってる着物や帯を利用して製作しているスニーカー店がとうとうオープン。男女問わず履けるし、紐だけでなく、ベルクロタイプの物もあるので、障害ある方、高齢で紐が難しい方などの介護シューズとしても、お洒落に楽しめるのではないかなと。
海外の方の日本の思い出の品としても勿論良いし、店員さんが英会話可能、気さくで丁寧に対応して下さるので、安心してお買い物出来るのでオススメです。相談すれば自分の思い出の着物や帯で作れる事も可能だとか。スニーカーだけでなく、サンダルやヒール靴と新たな作品も飾られてました。もっともっとこれから世界に発信されるお店だと思うので、和が好きな方には是非覗いてみて欲しいです。

I heard about this store just two weeks before my trip to Japan and I knew I had to go. My feet are pretty big at 44 EU or 27.5 JP size, and I was very lucky to find shoes my size with a design I liked, the red one in the photo. However, orders made from scratch can take a couple of months to complete because the store works with genuine artisans who take time with their craft.
The staff was very helpful and friendly and helped me with everything I needed, and the shoes look and feel high quality. Their sister store, Kimono Reborn, is very close by and definitely worth a visit as well

一目惚れして以前購入した着物シューズ。浅草の革靴職人の技術と廃棄処分されそうになってる着物や帯を利用して製作しているスニーカー店がとうとうオープン。男女問わず履けるし、紐だけでなく、ベルクロタイプの物もあるので、障害ある方、高齢で紐が難しい方などの介護シューズとしても、お洒落に楽しめるのではないかなと。
海外の方の日本の思い出の品としても勿論良いし、店員さんが英会話可能、気さくで丁寧に対応して下さるので、安心してお買い物出来るのでオススメです。相談すれば自分の思い出の着物や帯で作れる事も可能だとか。スニーカーだけでなく、サンダルやヒール靴と新たな作品も飾られてました。もっともっとこれから世界に発信されるお店だと思うので、和が好きな方には是非覗いてみて欲しいです。

I remember seeing this store in a news report long ago. In my recent trip to Japan, i found it again by accident just looking other type of clothing in google maps search 😅🤣. I made up my mind inmediatly to go before leaving, as i thought it could be a beautifull and unique buy from Japan. The day i went to the store the staff was friendly and nice (they speak english). They brought me the options they had on my side (8.5 US/ 40 Eu). And fourtunatly i bought a design that i really like it and i am very looking forward to wear it :). I also believe the prices are worth it as its very unique hand made work. Maybe the design we all take is quite unique as i guess 1 recycled kimono has a very limited number of shoes you can make out of it!!

Pretty awesome store with unique one of a kind shoes. Since its design with old recycled kimonos the patter placed is different every time. Everything is handmade in Asakusa. The staff is wonderful, very nice and helpful. If you want to walk out with a pair right then and there, you tell them your size and what colors you like. They will bring out a wonderful selection of one of a kind shoes! I highly recommend this spot that’s a little off the beaten path for a one of a kind souvenir from Tokyo

Io e mio marito ci siamo recati in questo negozio conosciuto sui social. Il negozio non è nella zona affollata di Asakusa, ma si trova facilmente. Locale pulito con esposti diversi modelli.
Il personale (si sono alternate due commesse ed è arrivata anche un'altra persona) parla perfettamente inglese.
Per prima cosa abbiamo provato il loro modello per stabilire il numero. Le loro scarpe risultavano più strette di quelle occidentali e abbiamo acquistato mezzo/un numero in più.
Successivamente ci hanno mostrato i modelli disponibili in negozio. Qualora non ci fosse piaciuto nulla, avremmo potuto far realizzare delle scarpe con le stoffe che avevano. C'erano molti tessuti, alcuni erano pezzi di kimono in cotone, altri erano le cinture Obi con colori più lucidi.
Anche il colore di base delle scarpe era personalizzabile: c'era il bianco, ma anche rosse, blu, marroni e altri colori.
Mio marito ha acquistato subito un paio. Io me le sono fatte confezionare e in un paio di mesi dovrebbero arrivare.
Costo ovviamente più alto di un paio di scarpe si sneakers in negozio, ma parliamo di un prodotto artigianale.
I costi per la spedizione sono contenuti, così come la personalizzazione.
Assolutamente consigliato anche per la possibilità di avere un prodotto unico.

I had the pleasure of working with Sho-san to order a pair of Tokyo Kimono Shoes as my wedding shoes. From initial contact to confirming the right size to choosing the fabric and matching leather, it was a smooth process and positive experience. Sho-san gave so much attention to the details of the construction of the shoes. As they are handmade, there is a bit of a wait between your order and the arrival of the shoes, but I didn’t mind. When the sneakers arrived, they were absolutely beautiful. I got so many compliments on them at our wedding, and some of our guests came up to me to ask if they could look more closely at them. I made sure to break them in a little bit before the wedding and they were comfortable for the entire day. I would highly recommend Tokyo Kimono Shoes for either your special event or for a nice accent shoe! The wait is worth it, just make sure to check their website for the production timeline and order with appropriate lead time. The shoes are beautiful, and hopefully, these are made in Japan. I ended up buying 4 pairs, and we stopped at different location where they sell bags. I saw their new design that will be released in September, and I will be looking forward to it. I will definitely order additional shoes from them in the future. I made up my mind inmediatly to go before leaving, as i thought it could be a beautifull and unique buy from Japan. The day i went to the store the staff was friendly and nice (they speak english). They brought me the options they had on my side (8.5 US/ 40 Eu). And fourtunatly i bought a design that i really like it and i am very looking forward to wear it :). I also believe the prices are worth it as its very unique hand made work. Maybe the design we all take is quite unique as i guess 1 recycled kimono has a very limited number of shoes you can make out of it!!

Pretty awesome store with unique one of a kind shoes. Since its design with old recycled kimonos the patter placed is different every time. Everything is handmade in Asakusa. The staff is wonderful, very nice and helpful. If you want to walk out with a pair right then and there, you tell them your size and what colors you like. They will bring out a wonderful selection of one of a kind shoes! I highly recommend this spot that’s a little off the beaten path for a one of a kind souvenir from Tokyo

Io e mio marito ci siamo recati in questo negozio conosciuto sui social. Il negozio non è nella zona affollata di Asakusa, ma si trova facilmente. Locale pulito con esposti diversi modelli.
Il personale (si sono alternate due commesse ed è arrivata anche un'altra persona) parla perfettamente inglese.
Per prima cosa abbiamo provato il loro modello per stabilire il numero. Le loro scarpe risultavano più strette di quelle occidentali e abbiamo acquistato mezzo/un numero in più.
Successivamente ci hanno mostrato i modelli disponibili in negozio. Qualora non ci fosse piaciuto nulla, avremmo potuto far realizzare delle scarpe con le stoffe che avevano. C'erano molti tessuti, alcuni erano pezzi di kimono in cotone, altri erano le cinture Obi con colori più lucidi.
Anche il colore di base delle scarpe era personalizzabile: c'era il bianco, ma anche rosse, blu, marroni e altri colori.
Mio marito ha acquistato subito un paio. Io me le sono fatte confezionare e in un paio di mesi dovrebbero arrivare.
Costo ovviamente più alto di un paio di scarpe si sneakers in negozio, ma parliamo di un prodotto artigianale.
I costi per la spedizione sono contenuti, così come la personalizzazione.
Assolutamente consigliato anche per la possibilità di avere un prodotto unico.

I had the pleasure of working with Sho-san to order a pair of Tokyo Kimono Shoes as my wedding shoes. From initial contact to confirming the right size to choosing the fabric and matching leather, it was a smooth process and positive experience. Sho-san gave so much attention to the details of the construction of the shoes. As they are handmade, there is a bit of a wait between your order and the arrival of the shoes, but I didn’t mind. When the sneakers arrived, they were absolutely beautiful. I got so many compliments on them at our wedding, and some of our guests came up to me to ask if they could look more closely at them. I made sure to break them in a little bit before the wedding and they were comfortable for the entire day. I would highly recommend Tokyo Kimono Shoes for either your special event or for a nice accent shoe! The wait is worth it, just make sure to check their website for the production timeline and order with appropriate lead time. The shoes are beautiful, and hopefully, these are made in Japan. I ended up buying 4 pairs, and we stopped at different location where they sell bags. I saw their new design that will be released in September, and I will be looking forward to it. I will definitely order additional shoes from them in the future. The staff were nice, helpful, and extremely professional. The only downside was the lack of available colors in the sizes we were looking for

The hospitality that given to my wife and I
was extraordinary. The attention to detail of their products is outstanding. Will will buy a pair of Kimono shoe that are singular, no two pairs are identical to each other. If you would rather like to choose the type, color and pattern of the available Kimonos on display including the various amount of trims that also can be selected to your liking.
We bought two pairs one for my loving wife and for my beautiful sister.

I heard about this store just two weeks before my trip to Japan and I knew I had to go. My feet are pretty big at 44 EU or 27.5 JP size, and I was very lucky to find shoes my size with a design I liked, the red one in the photo. However, orders made from scratch can take a couple of months to complete because the store works with genuine artisans who take time with their craft.
The staff was very helpful and friendly and helped me with everything I needed, and the shoes look and feel high quality. Their sister store, Kimono Reborn, is very close by and definitely worth a visit as well

一目惚れして以前購入した着物シューズ。浅草の革靴職人の技術と廃棄処分されそうになってる着物や帯を利用して製作しているスニーカー店がとうとうオープン。男女問わず履けるし、紐だけでなく、ベルクロタイプの物もあるので、障害ある方、高齢で紐が難しい方などの介護シューズとしても、お洒落に楽しめるのではないかなと。
海外の方の日本の思い出の品としても勿論良いし、店員さんが英会話可能、気さくで丁寧に対応して下さるので、安心してお買い物出来るのでオススメです。相談すれば自分の思い出の着物や帯で作れる事も可能だとか。スニーカーだけでなく、サンダルやヒール靴と新たな作品も飾られてました。もっともっとこれから世界に発信されるお店だと思うので、和が好きな方には是非覗いてみて欲しいです。

I remember seeing this store in a news report long ago. In my recent trip to Japan, i found it again by accident just looking other type of clothing in google maps search 😅🤣.
